Riders Report summary

*This is an overall summary. The Bighorns are a massive mountain range. Certain areas and elevations may vary greatly.

Report Summary: Looks like a sneaky storm rolled in (01/09) and delivered 7” of new snow. Much needed, but we’ll need a few more of those soon to really fix things. This should make the trails significantly better.

Previous*significant Storm: 01/08

Latest Storm: 01/08

Previous Snow Depth: 8-30”

Current Snow Depth: 8-35”

Snow Quality: Wind crusted.

Avalanche Observations: Lots of wind loading which will make certain slopes interesting. A lot of open slopes are honestly wind blown to the point they’re not even holding snow. With that said, it will basically be an ice layer whenever we get a big storm next.

Backcountry Conditions Rating: C-

Trail Conditions: Most trails have been groomed. Some have dirt on them where the snow never stood a chance with the wind.

Future Forecast: There’s a little bit of snow in the forecast but not a ton.
